Hitnews Offering Nighttime Usenet Accounts

Hitnews offers a number of Usenet account options.  Their standard accounts let you download 24 hours a day but include speed caps.  Ranging from 2 mbit up to 150 mbit.  In addition Hitnews offers nighttime accounts.  Download at 120 mbit during specified times and 1 mbit the rest of the day for € 4,75 (~$7) a month.

Here are the details for the Hitnews nighttime accounts:

  • Full speed download (up to 120 mbit) during these times:
  • Monday through Friday from 12AM – 4PM CET
  • Saturday and Sunday from 12AM – 10AM CET
  • Outside these hours you can download at 1 mbit

Note that the times are listed in CET – Central European Time which is GMT + 2:00.  Adjust for your local timezone as the account is based on CET. Hitnews offers 535 days of binary retention along with up to 30 connections.  SSL encryption is free and available via their ssl.hitnews.eu news server.
